Hiss + Howl

The idea for Hiss + Howl began after rescuing my first dog, Darby. He is a bully breed and my excitement of bringing him home quickly turned to frustration as I watched my neighbors scurry to get out of his way on walks, despite his sweet demeanor. I purchased a beautiful handmade collar for him, it had a folk floral pattern and complimented his coat so well. I never expected such a simple accessory to significantly alter the way people interacted with him, but sure enough I watched as people responded to him in a much more welcoming way. I also noticed his confidence grow with every kind interaction he had with new people, it was a chain reaction from the smallest thing. From then on everything was just a flurry of welded D rings and ornate textiles.
