This coffin leather patch upgrade is a fun way to personalize your favorite Hiss + Howl styles. This patch serves as a silent tag and displays your pet's info. Please note that with this specific patch there are significant space limitations. For that reason only the name OR number can be added to your tag. Also because of space your patch will not be able to be sewn on but will be secured with an industrial strength adhesive. If you need both the name and number added I would recommend the regular rectangular patch found in the upgrades section.
This is sold as an add-on that you can pair with any style of extra small dog or cat collar in the shop. Simply add the collar and the upgrade to your cart and provide your pet's information.

This 3/8" wide patch can only be added to cat or extra small dog collars. If the 3/8" patch is incorrectly added to a wider style it will be refunded and your collar will ship without the upgrade. To add customization for your patch drop a line in your order notes on the page after entering your payment info or add your info in the personalization box (for browsers that are supported).
Your patch begins as a piece of veg tanned leather that is cut and customized in the studio. Next it gets a rich brown stain and is sewn by hand onto your collar of choice. Adjustments in text size will be made to accommodate longer names.
I absolutely love the look of these patches but the functionality is something I knew Hiss + Howl customers would enjoy. Not hearing your pet's tag jingling takes a bit of adjustment but the silence is *so nice* and I love the extra security of having their info accessible at all times.
Please allow up to three weeks for your collar and patch to be customized to perfection for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can collars be made in 1” width instead of 1.5”? / Can I order a 1” wide collar in the martingale style? / Can I get a custom width?
It depends but if the collar you are interested in is available with a printed name you are good to go. If the design spans the full 1.5” width (excluding collars with names) it likely can not be made in 1”. / I only offer martingales in the 1.5” or 2" width. / The widths I offer are 3/8”, 1”, 1.5" and 2”.
Can I order a matching leash?
I do not make leashes at this time.
Can I add a name/number to a style without customization available?
Definitely; however to preserve the design all names and numbers will need to be added via the patch that can be found in the “Upgrades” section.
Can I order a color that is not on your site?
Definitely. It helps me a lot if you are descriptive with the shade (ex. ‘Bubblegum pink’ as opposed to ‘pink’). I have most colors on hand so you are welcome to place your order with a note but I do ask that you also follow up with a message so I can confirm right away that your color is available. For custom colors I may need to use my discretion on which color ink to print in.
Can collars be made smaller in length than what is available?
Yes but it is best to get approval before ordering for lengths shorter than 14” if selecting a style with a custom printed name. I will need to know the exact neck measurement, how many letters are in the name, and if you prefer a buckle or martingale style.
Can some of the info for my pet tag be added on the back?
I only offer designs on the front of the tag unless otherwise stated in the listing.
What is my order status/when will it ship?
As soon as your order is placed I get to work creating it just for you. Sometimes this process can take up to three weeks but we think it’s worth the wait! Your confirmation email will have more information about when to expect your package and you will receive a tracking number as soon as it flies the coop.
I need my order sooner, can you send it out in less time?
Out of respect for customers that have already been waiting I do not bump orders up; I create everything in the order it is received. Many packages do ship well before the expected date but I always quote up to three weeks so I can make sure everything is perfect before it heads out.

This buy was extremely hard for me. I lost one of my boys July of 2022, I've been having an extremely rough time since, it took me a while to accept the fact that my trio is now a duo. My boys have always had matching collars and I needed to find something I loved that also matched each other and their own personalities. I went w the coffin and bat, small cat collars. They've had little bat charms on their collars since they were young. I immediately knew that's what I wanted. Pricing is absolutely reasonable & the patch I added was extra, however I think it makes these collars look so much more fancy. The collars are high quality+beautiful, the buckle has a really good amount of strength, has hardly shown chomp marks since the switch. Processing & shipping time was a bit, but I WAS told this upfront so I wasn't mad abt it. 🖤
